WD4A was introduced with SAP Netweaver 2004s and complements their range of web user interfaces &#8211; together with SAP&#8217;s own Business Server Pages (BSP) &#8211; and of course shares the rendering engine with a (potential) Java Stack, ie its older brother WebDynpro for Java.<\/p>\n<p>With about 18 months of age, WD4A  is still a very fresh area, but will gain momentum quickly due to the large dissemination of ABAP skills.<\/p>\n<p>What can you do and where can you look for help should you decide for yourself to lern more about WebDynpro for ABAP? Some link recommendation are below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Since ABAP OO is a prerequisite for WD4A,  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sap-press.com\/product.cfm?account=&amp;product=H1934\">Keller\/Krueger&#8217;s ABAP OO book<\/a> has to be the first recommendation<\/li>\n<li>in order to pratice any code examples it is advisable to install the NW 2004s Trial system from the <span id=\"mememe\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdn.sap.com\/irj\/sdn\/downloaditem?rid=\/library\/uuid\/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6\">SAP NetWeaver Trials and Previews section<\/a>  on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sdn.sap.com\">SDN <\/a><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sdn.sap.com\"><span id=\"mememe\"><\/span><\/a><span id=\"mememe\"> but make sure you install the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdn.sap.com\/irj\/servlet\/prt\/portal\/prtroot\/com.sap.km.cm.docs\/business_packages\/a1-8-4\/BugfixDBDriverForNSPsystem.zip\">latest bugfix<\/a> and use the latest 6.40 SAP GUI version &#8211; you&#8217;ll save yourself a lot of time and hassle!<\/span><\/li>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sdn.sap.com\"> <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sdn.sap.com\"> <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sdn.sap.com\"> \t<\/a><\/p>\n<li><span id=\"mememe\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sap-press.com\/product.cfm?account=&amp;product=H1916\">Ulli Hoffmann&#8217;s Web Dynpro for ABAP book<\/a> has all the hallmarks of becoming a classic, it seems.
