A lot of folks are still recovering physically and mentally from the awesomeness that is SAP TechEd. I realise that in terms of conferences -Bangalore and Shanghai still to go- we’re only at half time. To use an old football expression: “a LOT can happen in the second half” – but hasn’t it been full of interesting news and announcements already?

Some of my weekly news summary touches on these. I also think that SAP TechEd brings out the best in the whole blogosphere, with a huge number of top notch contributions. Let’s tuck in.

“You take the high road and I go to TechEd…”

Enterprise Geeks, Enterprise Geeks everywhere! A solid run-down of how to prepare and make TechEd work for you

great TechEd closing comments by Jon Reed: “(…) I was expecting SAP to serve up something technically meaty (…). SAP did that – though not in nearly as much detail as many in attendance would have liked.” and “The questioning of NetWeaver has in turn created customer confusion and undermined confidence in SAP’s technical direction.“. I couldn’t agree more here. To lament ongoing discussions over stack wars, for example, whilst creating uncertainty has been a weakness. Jon also sets the expectations for a SAPPHIRE 2011: “(…), if SAP can bring a 4.6C customer onstage that can show off how they were able to move more products or save piles of cash based on their ability to build off of “older R/3” using Gateway or HANA, that will be a big moment.“

Dennis Howlett chimes in with his summary wrap of TechEd 2010.
